5 Best Drugstore Face Scrubs for All Skin Types

Face scrubs

Face scrubs are a dozen a dime. The market is flooded with so many face scrubs and peels and new ones coming up every day too. With that many products, it can be hard trying to figure out what is good for you, your wallet, or even the environment. Researching the numerous products can make you feel like you want to give up hope of finding that one product that will work for you.

I have used all of these products, with my current one being number 5, which tends to work better for the dryness around my chin. And while not all the items below are organic, and not all cheap either, they are a few of the best face scrubs out there that will work for you. These products can be found at your local drugstore, but also on Amazon. Quick tip – make sure you’re doing a price check before you buy. The brand’s websites usually have ongoing deals, so don’t forget to check there. They may have a promotion or coupon you can use too.

Make sure you are doing an allergy test since like everything in life, there is no one size fits all.

This exfoliating face scrub is great for dull skin i.e. my skin. The manuka honey is smooth enough that you don’t feel you like you are using sandpaper to get the dead skin cells off your face. It leaves your face feeling revitalized. The products are sulfate, paraben, and cruelty free. The company has a 60-day money back guarantee if you are not happy with the products. Make sure you buy from their site if you are looking for the 60-day guarantee.

The fresh feeling of the lemon peel gives your face a certain refreshing feeling.  Their products are free from a lot of bad stuff, including being paraben and sulfate free, cruelty free, and vegan. They do offer a line of products for men too. Also, they often have a ton of offers and promotions on their site.

This is a natural face scrub, which can also be used as a body scrub. A double win! It uses Himalayan pink salt, which acts as the scrub, and is also infused with lychee fruit and sweet almond oil for ease of application. They use stem cells (fruit based) and collagen to rejuvenate the skin. This is a great scrub to reduce cellulite and minimize pores. The products are made in the USA and are cruelty free.

These guys have one of the yummiest smelling face scrubs out there. You are not only drawn to the smell and packaging, but to the gentle effectiveness of the product itself. The Australian pink clay is a natural detoxifier that removes dirt and grime and dead skin cells from your face. It also acts as an exfoliant and scrub. Follow the instructions and you’d be scrubbing, detoxing and leaving your face refreshed all within five minutes. They use natural, organic products and are paraben, sulfate, phthalates, silicone, and cruelty free. Also approved by PETA.

5. Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel

This is one of the easiest and true to its name, face scrub. Since it is dubbed a peel, you need to have a very gentle approach when applying and rolling this over your face. The peel does collect all the dirt and dead skin cells after 3 minutes of circular rolling your face with a pea size of the product. It also helps in removing pigmentation with regular use. Make sure you read the instructions (here) very carefully before trying this out. And since this is a protein peel, use cautiously. Fun fact – Meghan Markel uses this peel for her glowy face.

In Conclusion

These are some of the face scrubs I’ve tested on myself and find to be helpful with my skin. As mentioned, not all products work the same for everyone. There may be a lot of trial and errors before you find the product that works for you. However, I do hope some you will try one or all of these face scrubs and that they work for you too. Always make sure you are moisturizing with a good face cream or moisturizer after so the scrub doesn’t dry out your face. Here are a few face moisturizers I use after using any of the face scrubs above.
